Brittania Classic 2015: Rolling Strong Since 2007
So what's in store for all you downhill lovers this year? The 1.5km (1 mile) track has 3 huge buttery hairpins, 1 double apexing sweeper, a finish that is too dangerous to race totaling 5 corners, over 1000ft of vertical and with gravity fed speeds of 55mph / 90kph. The Britannia Classic welcomes Open, Women, Junior 17U, Juniorr 13U and Masters 30+ categories. In coordination with the local community and government agencies this free family friendly event will be open to spectators to watch the race Sunday May 24th.
The Coast Mountains surrounding Squamish provide more than just stunning views. Apart from world class climbing, hiking, biking, backcountry skiing and snowmobiling, the area also provide a perfect playground for downhillers, nestled in a spectacular spot at the tip of Howe Sound with the Pacific Ocean to the south, and the Coast Mountain Range to the north, east and west.
Proudly presented by Subsonic Skateboards, a legendary brand born out of a garage in Portland back in 1999, the event is not to be missed. So mark your calendars and head to Squamish to get your wheels burn! Registration is still on! To get you all psyched, check a "look back" video below.
